TL;DRAbstract
The article offers a concise overview on Natural theology in the xx Century English philosophical literature, and, indirectly, in other cultural areas that somehow depend on the former. In the first place, the recent philosophical movement of the radical atheism (the New Atheism) is examined, explaining its historical and conceptual origin. The article also suggest how contemporary scientists could avoid the methodological monism, one that prevent many thinkers from developing a consistent philosophy of God. New formulations of the Cosmological argument starting from Big Bang cosmologies, and the Teleological argument as proposed by the Intelligent design movement are here examined in detail. According to the author, the Teleological argument based on the fine-tuning of cosmological and biological laws opens up more interesting perspectives when compared with the previous arguments, helping philosophers to dialogue better with contemporary scientists.
