This study aims at discovering the dispositions of divorce in Turkey between the years 2001-2009. These dispositions were investigated in reference to the geographical extent, reasons for divorce, and the duration of marriage. The increasing levels of divorce in Turkey clearly signify the gradual downfall of the traditional family model. The issues of divorce is constructed according to a method of investigation in line with the relational and wholistic logic of social reality. In the last years of 2001-2009 time period, Istanbul represents a risky province of divorce with a distinctive divorce level. In the year of the economic crisis, 2001, divorce caused by abandonment is increased while in the years 2004-2005 divorce caused by dissensions is the distinctive factor. Moreover, divorce levels with less than five-year marriages in 2001 is distinct while in the years 2008-2009 the divorce levels of long term marriages is increased singnifying a risky profile of divorce.
