Olle F.A. Öijerholm-2009-12-21-Gothenburg University Publications Electronic Archive (Gothenburg University)

TL;DRAbstract

Web applications are applications that are executed in a web browser. There are several\ntechnologies available for the development of web applications. The availability of these different\ntechnologies is a good thing. Without knowledge of the merits of the individual technologies\nhowever, it is difficult to choose which technology should be used for a particular project. In order\nto help solve this problem, this thesis presents a comparative evaluation of two web application\ntechnologies, Microsoft Silverlight 2 and Sun's JavaFX. The basis for the comparison has been the\nperformance of the technologies measured through a series of benchmarks.
