Immunosensors Based on Total Internal Reflectance

17

TL;DRAbstract

In the last decade the development of chemical sensors has become a very active research field both in university and in industrial laboratories. It has now become clear that technological innovations can result in sensor devices which allow for new, unprecedented applications. A striking example is the measurement of the pH within one single living cell. 1 More conventional, but nevertheless from a practical viewpoint very fascinating, are the large number of sensor devices that find their application in the biomedical and veterinary field, in the bioprocess (food) industry, and also in the monitoring of the biosphere.
