Introduction: Despite intensive care and advanced technology, severe heart failure continues to be a relevant cause of hospital admission and death. Although several factors may be identified to assess and contribute to the severity of this condition, outcome predictive models applied on admission to Intensive Care Unit are not reliable tools to estimate mortality in severe heart failure.
