This paper describes research concepts and topics in the national project, “Development of Materials Technologies in Harmony with Environment (ECOMATERIALS)”, which is organized by the Science and Technology Agency. Three main subjects in the project are the establishments of; 1) An assessment system of materials technologies in view of the minimized load to environment, 2) Design technologies for easy-recycling materials, and 3) Design technologies for environment-friendly materials.
