TL;DRAbstract

After being tormented by sloughing shales, drilling in Mississippi improved with lower mud cost, longer bit life, less cement consumption, fewer hole troubles and higher drilling speed. The drilling techniques and the glycerol-based mud system made the difference and are discussed in this work.
