TL;DRAbstract
SolvSim Power Station (SSPS) is a hard-ware-in-the-loop simulator that can be utilized\nto test and prepare power stations for island operation. SSPS has been successfully used\nin Sweden over the past decade. During the test, the power station remains connected\nto the grid without the need to establish an actual island system. SSPS requires the\ntested power station to be synchronized to a strong grid. The principle of SSPS is to\nreplace the normal frequency feedback of the governor with a simulated frequency.\nThis thesis investigates the in\nuence of grid frequency variation on the test. Two scenarios\nof frequency variation is considered; 1) spontaneous frequency variation in large\ngrid 2) grid frequency variations as a consequence of the test.\nIn this thesis, a model of a power station connected to a grid with a variable frequency\nis implemented. SSPS tests are performed on the power station using a model of SSPS.\nThe results of this thesis demonstrates that SSPS is dependen
