TL;DRAbstract

In this chapter, I shall explain how to set-up a patch-clamp technique. The aim is to guide researchers in their initial steps in the field of electrophysiology, describing the instrumentation needed, as well as the technique itself. This chapter has been written assuming that the reader has a basic knowledge of electrophysiology. I pay more attention to the practical description of the instrumentation than to a theoretical analysis of the technique.
