TL;DRAbstract

The group noted that forecasting is most difficult during recession periods when, in fact, it plays the most important part of an early warning system. Nevertheless, early warning is essential to the management of the desert locust. A main component of early warning is locust forecasts, which depend on the quality and timeliness of information.
