TL;DRAbstract

In the MPEG audio coding, the input signal is divided into 32 subbands of equal bandwidth. In each subband, the signal is scaled and quantized in order to keep the quantizing noise below the masking curve. The result of the encoding is a series of scale factors, quantizer information and coded samples for each subband. According to analysis of subband filter flowchart the filter does a time to frequency mapping.
