A Numerical Method for Solving the Inverse Stefan Problem in two Space Variables

David Colton,Rembert Reemtsen-1983-01-01-Birkhäuser Basel eBooks

TL;DRAbstract

In this paper we present a method for the numerical solution of the single phase inverse Stefan problem in two space dimensions. The idea is to minimize the maximal defect in the initial-boundary data on a finite dimensional space of solutions of the heat equation under constraints which guarantee the continuous dependence of the solution on the data.
