Performance of a Wetproofed Catalyst in an Ambient Temperature Discriminating Tritium Sampler

3

TL;DRAbstract

The use of wetproofed catalysts in ambient temperature discriminating tritium samplers was evaluated. Initial performance tests demonstrated the feasibility of using wetproofed catalysts in tritium samplers. Subsequent tests showed excellent performance (>99% conversion of HT to HTO) in laboratory tests of an environmental sampler and a stack sampler. The rate of HT oxidation could be described with a first order Arrhenius rate expression using a rate constant of k = 96.4 L/(g·s) e-3504/T.
