The aim of the pellets@las project is to develop a transparent European pellets market through the collection and provision of detailed information on all pellet markets across Europe. Market data, such as produced and available quantities and regional sales prices are made available through a public web-based information platform. In order to cover heterogeneous markets across Europe, as well as all groups of stakeholders (pellet producers, traders and consumers) a consistent methodology for data collection was tailored to these particular needs. Since 2007, the European pellet market has been monitored using a set of specific questionnaires, which are sent to market participants, combined with the cooperation of national pellet associations in more developed pellet markets.
