COUPLES RELATIONSHIP TODAY This review article presents the current state of couple relationships. Exposes some signiicant numbers in the population of the city of Buenos Aires and are linked to possible indicators that make the conlict between couples. The theoretical route starts from the concept of attachment, the need for privacy and the construct of perfectionism personality that numerous research were conceptualized as a mediator of these variables. Special emphasis was placed on research that linked to perfectionism, attachment styles and the ability to establish intimate relationships with others. Finally, it stresses the clinical importance to understand the factors that make an adaptative functioning of the relationship and the development of appropriate intervention strategies.
