Análise de imagens Cherenkov e a evolução longitudinal de chuveiros extensos

TL;DRAbstract

The purpose of this work is to evaluate the possibility of using atmospheric Cherenkov telescopes to study the longitudinal development of extensive air showers. The work was realized in the framework of the EASTOP Collaboration. The results from data analysis show that the study of longitudinal development is possible. In this way, the detector originally projected for 'Y astronomy can be used in the study of composition in the energy range that contains the knee of the cosmic ray spectrum. The results from the analysis of selected data are shown and possible modifications in the detector design are proposed in order to increase its sensitivity to the study of the longitudinal development of extensive air showers.
