The study focuses on attic black-glazed pottery of the 4th century B.C. in the archaeological sites of the western Mediterranean area. A total of 109 sites were counted through the analysis of the published data, concerning Punic, Greek and native settlements. The work is divided in three study areas. The first section concerns the definition and critical analysis of problems of typological, chronological and distribution character. The second section concerns the diffusion of attic black-glazed pottery and consequent distribution trends. The third and last section concerns the analysis of attic ceramic in Sardinia. The data implementation took place by creating a database consisting of sheets relative to each single finding, drawn up according to chronological, typological parameters and origin.
