Women with Families and Experiences of Business Travel

TL;DRAbstract

The thesis studies how female business travellers with children experience business travel. The objective is to find out new ways and tools to make business trips easier for these travel-lers, make them have a better work-life balance and have a less stressful experience not only during their trips, but also after.\n\nThe method used was semi structured interviews. The interview consisted of questions relat-ed to combining business travelling and family. The interviews took place in Spring 2015 and four respondents, aged 34-52, participated in the interviews. The respondents had 2-3 chil-dren. Three of the respondents had been travelling for business for around 10 years, one around 20 years.\n\nThe theoretical framework focuses on issues relevant to the topic. Firstly, the role of Finnish women is presented. Secondly. Business travel, its challenges and women‟s aspect on work-ing and business travelling is discussed.
