TL;DRAbstract

This paper aims to investigate the formation and organization of workers in the city of Belo Horizonte, between the years 1893 to 1930. We analyze, through varied documentation, membership trends and political, ideological and cultural gifts in the working classes of the new capital of Minas Gerais. We understand that the actions undertaken by associations classists, in search of better conditions of work and life was of practical reformers, which sought to consolidate labor rights through legal means. In addition to this factor, we believe that government intervention in the construction and planning of the city of Belo Horizonte, was crucial to influence the formation of the reformist ideology of class workers.
