TL;DRAbstract

The first part of the article presents an outline of the statistical thinking development on Polish territories since 19th century. In the second part the author characterizes activities of the Polish Statistical Society (PTS) since 1912 as well as the Polish Economists and Statisticians Society in years 1917–1939 as well as in years after 1945. In the end the author discusses activity perspectives of the PTS in the next years.
