TL;DRAbstract

Objective: To assess whether the expression of Cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) in borderline ovarian tumors is related to tumor type, cell proliferation rate, presence of peritoneal implants or disease stage. Methods: The study included 86 borderline epithelial tumors of the ovary; 36 serous, 46 mucinous and 4 seromucinous (endocervical-type mucinous), obtained from women who underwent surgery between January 1998 and December 2004.
