TL;DRAbstract

The observed increase in the labor market deactivation is one of the most important effects of changes in Poland. While in the EU countries we can observe an increasing labor force participation rate, in Poland we note the continuing downward trend. One reason for this phenomenon is the deactivation of near retirement aged persons. It is related to the possibility to take advantage of early retirement or other benefits. One of the main reasons for this process is the employment policy in transition.
