TL;DRAbstract

Using $Ar^{+}$ laser excitation; strong resonance raman spectra were recorded when Cr was deposited into Ar matrices . The main progression had a vibrational spacing $w_{e}$ of $396 cm^{-1}$ and an anharmonicity $w_{e}x_{e}$ of $13 cm^{-1}$. High resolution spectra revealing the isotopic fine structure of these bands were recorded and comparison with computed spectra indicate the species to be $Cr_{3}$ with a D3h structure. Other Raman and fluorescence bands, were present and their assignments will be discussed.
