Gridded Shapefile for the Recharge Zones of the Barton Springs segment of the Edwards Aquifer
TL;DRAbstract

General Information:
\n
This is a GIS shapefile that delineates hydraulic conductivity and recharge zones for the Barton Springs segment of the Edwards Aquifer in central Texas, USA. The groundwater system is a karstic aquifer in a rapidly urbanizing portion of the City of Austin. The shapefile boundary aligns with a numerical groundwater simulation of the aquifer system with cells matching the active regions of the MODFLOW model. Zonation reflects 11 areas that are useful for integrated groundwater management and modelling.
\n
Use cases and further information:
\n
A numerical simulation (MODFLOW model) was developed for use as a groundwater availability model (GAM) in the State of Texas (Scanlon et al, 2003; Scanlon et al, 2001). The recharge zones were developed for Barton Springs GAM because it represents a baseline interpretation of groundwater behavior, the model is readily accessible. Zonation was originally completed so
