Détermination de classes de relief à l'aide de données ERS1 sur des bassins versants tropicaux de Guyane
TL;DRAbstract
Radar imagery is not very used for hydrology in tropical regions, in spite of its all weather characteristic, which provides objective information during the rainy season. Due to its sensitivity to relief and morphological structures, radar information can gives new elements concerning the morphology of the Amazonian rain forest watersheds. The aim of this research is to find a new methology to describe the morphology of tropical watersheds and possible relationship with hydraulic parameters. An ERS mosaic (C band, degraded pixel size 50 m) has been used, on the whole territory of French Guiana, which is covered with rain forest. Due to the forest backscatter homogeneity, terrain slope is considered as the main contributor to the backscattered signal. Six relief classes were defined, and obtained by a textural processing software, over a 100 000 km 2 area. After an evaluation of the result and an explanation of observed artefacts, the relevance of relief classification is discussed for
