TL;DRAbstract
This is a Master’s in Early Childhood Education from Oslo College, Norway. The main focus is the philosophical thinking about time and quality in kindergarten in light of some discourses in a society that is characterized by "modernizing the public sector" and high goals for quality. The main subjects are based on the Ministry's evaluation report (Østrem, et al., 2009) "All matters more: an evaluation of how the curriculum for kindergarten's content and tasks are introduced, used and experienced.” The report shows that participants basically see time as a barrier to the development of kindergarten in a complex future society.\nMy desire was to examine whether the philosophical thinking of time can provide several approaches to quality discourses, through identifying and trying to set discourse in motion. The thesis looks at the relationship between work-style conditions for staff in kindergarten and quality of the educational content. At least, it is trying to inspire participation to
