Methods for combined treatment of patients with metastatic lesions of bones

TL;DRAbstract

The article describes methods of combined treatment of 54 patients with metastatic lesions of bones, an individual approach being used for each case depending upon accompanying factors. The combined treatment included different techniques: surgery, chemotherapy, radiotherapy, hormone therapy, immunotherapy, bisphosphonates, radionuclides. Satisfactory results of treatment were obtained: after their operations, 42 (97.7%) patients developed restoration of function and support ability of the affected parts of skeleton, and 54 patients reported improvement of quality of life. The overall survival rates were 41.16±8.8% after three years and 21.61±8.6% after five years.
