Endovascular repair of blunt traumatic thoracic aortic transection in patients who are not candidates for the gore TAG device.
TL;DRAbstract
Endograft repair for blunt thoracic aortic injuries is becoming the treatment of choice for this often-fatal injury. Options for endografts are currently limited due to sizing constraints based on patient aortic diameters and initial lack of accessibility of the Gore TAG device for use in trauma. We report our experience of thoracic aortic endograft repair using infrarenal endograft components for traumatic injuries in patients with thoracic aortic diameters smaller than the recommended size for repair with the Gore Tag device.
