The Norm Team: How Catalog/Metadata Staff Contributes to Making Primo at Emory the Best It Can Be for Us

The first part of this session is a discussion of the role of the Normalization Rules subteam (the Team) in our Primo implementation: from chartering, stakeholder identification, and project scope to deliverables, staff roles/responsibilities & workflows through to successes, challenges, issues & assessment. For the second part, we will provide an overview of some of the rule changes made by the Norm Team, how we test and document them, and the issues/discussions that led to them. A few of our changes are specific to our SirsiDynix Unicorn source data, but most have general applicability. We hope that this information-sharing session will provide those sites just starting to bring up Primo with some useful ah-ha’s that will help them as they develop their norm rules.
