Bioresonance for allergiges, atopic dermatitis, non-organic gastrointestinal complaints, pain and rheumatic diseases
TL;DRAbstract
Bioresonance therapy (BRT) as an alternative medical method is used for diagnosis and treatment of several diseases from allergy to psychosomatic disorders. BRT bases on the assumption that pathological waves from within the human body can be “corrected” in the BRT apparatus and to give then spontaneous healing impulses. To answer the question whether BRT is clinically effective and safe we conducted a systematic literature search in 4 databases. Out of 57 references found, only 6 fulfilled our inclusion criteria and covered the following 5 indications for BRT: allergies, atopic dermatitis, non-organic gastrointestinal complaints, pain and rheumatic diseases. Overall, the evidence of BRT is very heterogeneous and therefore consistency of the results could not be graded. Generally, BRT was found to be safe and trial results show high placebo effects and big variances between the patients. Therefore, BRT should only be provided additionally to standard of care treatment.
