Analysis of weekly precipitation cycles for selected precipitation gauges in Slovenia

TL;DRAbstract

Does it really rain more often on weekends than during the week? This assumption is made by
\nscientists who explore interaction between the occurrence of precipitation and air pollution.
\nIn graduation thesis we made a research of weekly cycles of precipitation for 13
\nmeteorological stations in Slovenia, following researches that were made so far abroad. We
\nused a variety of statistical tests and tried to determine whether the results for Slovenia are
\ncomparable to the results of other researches.
\nResearch demonstrate interesting results, which are similar to the results of other researches,
\nnamely analysis showed noticeable differences in the weekly precipitation distribution. The
\nnumber of rainy days is indeed higher on weekdays that during the working days at some
\nstations, but the differences are mostly not statistically significant. Precipitation stations
\nLjubljana-Bežigrad, Portorož-Airport, Velenje and Trbovlje stand out
