TL;DRAbstract

This thesis analyzes the acting and the expansion of Brazilian engineering companies in South America -particularly after 2002 -as well as its bond with the Brazilian foreign policy. In this sense, the internationalization of the companies does not characterize itself as enterprise purpose, considering that these companies may be mediators for the national interests and the government goals. In Brazil, from the beginning of the internationalization of the Brazilian companies to the present, the transnational corporations have given up their oligarchical and pejorative precepts (at least in theory) and have started to arrange an alliance with the state to promote national and regional development. The new paradigm of the Brazilian Foreign Policy, which is new-developmentalist, conjugates itself to this vision and unveils the directions of the state-market alliance in order to project the country into the international system.
