TL;DRAbstract

A method of chromatographic treatment of mixed dithizonate complexes has been devised whereby partial separation of some is effected upon an alumina column Special attention has been devoted to the cadmium dithizorate complex which has been concentrated in the first centimeter of a column prior to direct spectrographing of the alumina. Exploratory work is described dealing with the potential estimation of trace metals adsorbed as dithizone complexes on alumina by direct spectrographic examination. Details are given of the experimental work leading to the development of a method for the determination of small amounts of cadmium and its application to the determination of cadmiunn in uranium.
