A new Ophiostoma species isolated from Pinus pinaster in the Iberian Peninsula
TL;DRAbstract
An unknown species was isolated from Pinus pinaster infested by Tomicus piniperda (Coleoptera Scolytidae) in Central Spain. The new taxon is distinguished from other species by morphological features as well as by phylogenetic analysis of aligned sequences of the ITS region of the rRNA operon. Taxonomic implications are discussed, and the new combinations O. allantosporum, O. angusticollis, O. coronatum and O. tenellum, are proposed.
