CHANCES AND THREATS TO THE DEVELOPMENT OF FARMS HAVING ALTERNATIVE SOURCES OF INCOME

TL;DRAbstract

The aim of this study was to investigate the barriers and opportunities for development of alternative sources of income on agricultural farms. In the literature we discussed multifunctional development through alternative sources of income and presented the opportunities and the barriers to agricultural development. In this work a direct interview and questionnaire were used. The study included 404 respondents (farmers running enterprises). The study shows that a major barrier to agricultural development was the lack of funds. The chance to develop this activity was helped by skillful management, use of the services of consultants and the acquisition of EU funds or loans.
