Dihydropyridine is one of the most potent calcium channel blockers at present, in which nifedipine (nif) has been widely used for the treatment of cardiovascular diseases. It has been recorded in the Chinese Pharmacopeia (1990) and many other countries' pharmacopeias. In recent years, the Chinese scholars have found out that mnifedipine has a stronger and more lasting effect on the cardiovascular than nifedipine, but its inhibitory effect on myocardium is weaker.
