ABSTRACT Management of coastal resources for aquaculture need to consider its sustainability by the application of silvofishery system. This research aimed to study the the effect of silvofishery application to the environment quality and growth of cultured shrimp in Semarang coastal area. Data collection was conducted through experiment involving silvofishery pond with mangrove vegetation Avicennia and Rhizophora and ordinary pond (without vegetation) as comparison. Data was analyzed descriptively and statistical analysis was conducted through Anova. The result showed that there were differences on the environment condition on the silvofishery pond with mangrove vegetation Avicennia, Rhizophora and without vegetation. Observation result showed that silvofishery system provide positive effect on the pond environmnet quality.
