TL;DRAbstract

OBJECTIVE: The purpose of this 5 year, retrospective study, was to identify complications and outcomes of patients admitted with nonaneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage. BACKGROUND:15-20[percnt] of subarachnoid hemorrhage are angiogram-negative. Patients were admitted to a single-center, neuroscience intensive care unit. All patients underwent CT angiography and multiple, digital subtraction angiography (DSA). DESIGN/METHODS:A retrospective analysis was conducted on patients admitted to a primary referral center from 2009-2014 with SAH and suspected aneurysm rupture. Comparative analysis of reported negative CTA and DSA were included.Exclusion criteria included trauma, evidence of aneurysm, arterial dissection, arteriovenous malformation or lack of patient data. RESULTS:Sixty patients with SAH were identified. CTA was performed at presentation to our institution or outside hospital. DSA was performed if an unidentified source was reported. A lumbar puncture was not performed at our insti
