Caracterização estrutural e ultra-estrutural da espermatogenese de Melipona quadrifasciata anthidioides (Hymenoptera :Apidae)
TL;DRAbstract
In Melipona quadrifasciata anthidioides, the spermiogenetic process has been described, but is not totally understood, making this study another contribution to the spermiogenesis of the Melipona, focusing on the formation of the centriolar adjunct and the mitochondrial derivatives during early spermiogenesis. With light and electron microcopy it was possible to visualize the position these structures and their development. In E-PTA preparations, the centriolar adjunct was observed as being positive for basic proteins, contrasting with the mitochondrial derivatives. Its position is at the nuclear base, beside the centriole, and its initial ultrastructural appearance shows "holes" similar to the cytoplasmic "islands" of early mitochondrial derivatives. Routine fixation showed the development of the mitochondrial complex as it is transformed into a smaller mitochondrial derivative and a larger one, showing the structural difference between them that occurs in this stage.
