TL;DRAbstract

Because they practised an itinerant agriculture on burnbeatfields, the Bawbas from south-west of Burkina-Faso organised a strict division of the work, according to gender : gathering of crops and cleaning were dedicated to women, when general agriculture was dedicated to men. Women seldom collaborated to work in the fields. To day, we observe the entering of women in agriculture, but as « work- wo-menship ». « The woman is the plough of the poor », as women say. The purpose of this thesis is to explore the various social dimension that this new phenomenon provoques : loss of autonomy for women, consequences upon the children. This thesis analyses the burden endured by women inside the household, and the unbalanced repartition of the tasks with the husbands. Therefore, this thesis signales the fragility of women condition inside those new couples. Hereafter, husbands choose the extension of polygamy as a new economical option, rather than any investment in working-stock. The bwaba relat
